Okay, The Dog Days Of Summer 2025 hot dog eating tour is over and now it’s time for a palate cleanser and then we’re announcing the next MBIP food tour!
I usually go The Daily Scoop in Peoria Heights, but they were closed yesterday. I decided to pick my favorite non hot dog item from the tour and have that as a palate cleanser and so it’s off we go!
Here we are at The Ice Cream Shack and the food item that’s going to be our palate cleanser is listed right there on the sign, their Bacon Cheese Fries!
They were a taste treat when we stopped here back on August 12 and so we’re going to try them again today to see if they’re just as tasty today!
They’re open on Labor Day…hooray!
We’ll get in line and it moved fast and here I am up at the ordering window.
There’ s a menu up on the wall over there, but I already know what I want, so I went ahead and ordered. Everything is moving just as planned. I love it when this happens!
While I waited for my order, I glanced at the condiments on display and saw this frightening ketchup on display. Yikes, glad we don’t need any ketchup with today’s order!
Make it Heinz or make it nothing, people!
It’s a nice day today and there’s plenty of open tables, but I decided to sit at the bench I sat at on our last visit here.
Our lunch order is up and I got a hot fudge milkshake and it was creamy, rich and delicious!
We’re off to a nice start with today’s palate cleansing lunch!
There’s the star of today’s show, the Bacon Cheese Fries.
They look just as delicious as I remember them! Let’s dig in!
These fries are so tasty! They’re crispy, thin fries and the rich and creamy cheese sauce is complimented perfectly with the crispy, smoky and savory bacon!
What a taste treat and a nice palate cleanser.

Yep, we’re going to spend the rest of they year sampling appetizers at restaurants in and around Peoria, Illinois!
