Okay, this week we’re head out to our twelfth stop of this doggone tour, but before we stop for our hot dog, we’re going to make a pit stop at…
Acme Comics & Books to pick up this week’s hot dog guest star. Those of you who are regular readers of this blog already know who this is, but let’s pretend like it’s a surprise.
My brother Jim did that drawing that’s in the window, years ago!
As we walk into the shop which is stocked with lots of albums, CD’s, videos, books, DVD’s and of course comic books, I see our special hot diggity dog guest star behind the counter, it’s none other than the owner of ACME Comics & Books, Bob Gordon!
Always great to see Bob!
I searched through the Archie section of the comic books and found the perfect title to start our journey off on.
Hot Dog! Let’s head on out to…
The Other Dawg right off of War Memorial Drive in Peoria Heights.
This is the place that marks the 2025 dozen dogs stop! Let’s go in and begin this week’s hot dog afternoon!
We walked in and went up to the front counter and Tammy took our order while flashing a nice smile for the MBIP Camera. I love it when that happens!
There’s a lot of pictures and art on the walls in here, let’s take a look around while our orders are being prepared.
Check out the hot dog art in here and the vintage Other Dawg sign on the wall over here.
I ran into Marcia while taking photos and she posed for a photo. Everyone in here is nice and friendly! Check out Bob’s arm in the background!
Here’s a trio of articles from the PJ Star on The Other Dawg.
There’s a sign for the Daily Specials and a collage of photos from The Other Dawg.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our hot dog lunches are served!
Bog got two hot dogs with ketchup and mustard and an order of crinkle cut French fries.
I got the usual order of a hot dog with mustard and onions and a side order of onion rings.
Hot Dog, there’s Bob getting ready to dig into his dog!
There’s this week’s hot dog with the classic condiments of mustard and onions. Let’s try it out!
This is a nice beefy, savory hot dog and the bun is bakery fresh. Very nice!
Bob got a shot of me in The Other Dawg Hot Dog Photo cutout thingy. Hot diggity dog!

Hot Dog Rating
This was a nice, basic hot dog housed in a soft, bakery fresh bun.
I’ll give it a solid two and a quarter wiener dog rating out of four.
Thanks to Tammy and Marcia for the friendly service and to Bob for joining me and being the hot dog guest star of the week!
