Okay, time for another late night snack edition of Friday Bites. This week we’re heading over to Huck’s off of Allen Road. When I first moved back to Peoria in 2012, I lived right down the street from this place and I was in there at least once a day getting one thing or another.
It used to be open 24 hours and that changed in 2020 when the pandemic roared into town. I think back then they were closing around 10pm but now they’re open till midnight.
But it’s 11:33pm, so we need to hightail it over there to pick up this week’s trio of snacking items!

Huck’s
There’s about 12 minutes till closing time and odds are most of these people in here are drunk and/or high out of their minds!
Here we are inside of Huck’s! Hooray!
As you can see, this place is loaded with snackable items. It’s a stoners paradise, but sadly I don’t smoke pot anymore! But I’m hungry, so let’s choose some snacks!
We’ll get in the check out line and head back to the MBIP World Headquarters and take inventory of this week’s trio of chosen snack items!

Snack Item Number One: The Snackle Box
Since it was so close to closing time, I grabbed three items and didn’t look to closely at them. If i had I might not have chosen this one. I don’t like the name, “Snackle Box.”
I guess it’s a play on the term, “tackle box,” but that makes me think of fish bait which isn’t too appetizing.
“Snackle Box” also sounds like a term for an infected vagina and that combined with a tackle box oozing with fish bait is enough to make me hurl, so let’s just keep moving along here.
I told you I didn’t look too closely at this and I thought the section that has chocolate chip cookies were crackers. This salami and cheese needs a little crunch, so luckily I also chose…

Snack Number Two: Cheez-It Snap’d.
I love Cheez-It’s and this looks like a thin and crispy version of that snack cracker. I’m not happy with the way they spell the word, “Snapped” though. The obvious misspelling and use of an apostrophe is unsettling and the combined upper and lower case letters disturb me. Plus I’m still thinking about that fish bait infected vagina. Sheesh!
The cracker is cheesy and crispy and a nice snackable cracker.
I added the salami and cheese cubes from the “Snackle Box” and it was a nice treat. It provided the crispy consistency the salami and cheese cubes so desperately needed!
I then sandwiched the salami in two of the crackers and put two cheese cubes on top and this was a sensational snack item!
On to the third snack item of this late night snacking edition!

Snack Number Three: Cookies and Créme Cake Balls
Once again, I didn’t look at this label closely or I never would’ve bought it. I hate that they spelled, “cream,” “créme” with an accent mark over the first é.
What, are they trying to make this look European or something? These are cake balls for fuck’s sake!
And they’re not very good. These are doughy cake balls and they are void of all taste. It’s kind of like eating a sponge.
And yes, I’m still obsessing over the fish bait infected vagina. That imagery is probably going to ruin my entire rest of the evening and continue into a nightmare later on.

A Robbery At The Huck’s In Peoria!
Luckily, I made it out of there unscathed and unrobbed, with only thoughts of a fishy, infected vagina dancing around in my brain!

Arson At The Huck’s In Evansville!
I love the fact that the accused arsonist had a blue monkey hanging from his neck and that he stole seven dollars worth of cigarette lighters before starting the fire. That should’ve been a little clue right there!
