One of the biggest influences in my life was Punk magazine.
Punk was the first “do it yourself” magazine that I ever saw. It was first published in January of 1976 when I was a senior in high school. I used to buy it at Co-op Tapes and Records on Main Street.
The editor of the magazine was John Holmstrom and the “resident punk” was Legs McNeil. I would get to know both of them after I moved to New York in 1993. Below are links to Punk magazine online articles and three links to interviews with John Holmstrom and Legs McNeil conducted from my days when I was living in New York City.
And below that is the MBIP Coming Attractions. So there!

He’s writing the history of Punk magazine on this page plus there’s so much more fun articles about John’s more than interesting life here.
