Its crazy to think that over six years ago I had several requests to go to Dave’s Pizza in Bartonville. Here’s two of them:

So you know what? Let’s go back and wrap ourselves up in warm pizza crust memories before things got so 2020. Let’s go back in time!

Sherman set that Pizza Wayback Machine for February 24, 2014 and let’s go back to the MBIP visit to Dave’s Pizza.

And whoomp here we are at Dave’s Pizza in Bartonville, Illinois.

This is the home of the Zilla and back then I had no idea what that was. I would soon find out!

They have a nice dining room in here, but I chose to sit at the bar.

Bob the bartener served me up a can of Budweiser and Dave, the owner came out of the kitchen to say hello. Great to meet both of these friendly guys!

Pizza time! Here’s Dave delivering up the pizza!

I got the "Combo" pizza which has pepperoni, sausage, green pepppers, onions and mushrooms.

This is a great pizza, the crust is homemade and thin, but it has a nice texture to it and the toppings are more than generous and tasty.

This was a delicious pizza pie!

But wait…there’s more to come!

The Zilla!

I also had to try out their specialty sandwich, the Zilla! This is a sandwich that’s a cross between a gondola and pizza bread and it is simply amazing!

In addition to the homemade pizza sauce and toppings there's ham, cheese and salami. The bread is fresh and soft and it's delicious.

What a fabulous sandwich!
