One of my favorite Peoria Taverns is Castle’s Patio Inn. Back in 2017 I met some friends there and the chef of Castle’s Patio Inn, Kevin made us a special pizza utilizing the homemade garlic cheese spread that Castle’s is famous for.
That was a fun night, so let’s go and re-live it right now! Oh Sherman, you know what to do!

And, whoomp, here we are at Castle’s Patio Inn on a freezing night in 2017.
Alex, the friendly veteran bartender served up an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser. It’s always a pleasure to see Alex and hear his wonderful stories!
We had a party at Castle’s that night and I was joined by, clockwise from left: Hannah, Mae, Jon, Amber and Joe.
I asked Kevin if he would make a special off-menu pizza for us and he said that he would! It was a sausage pizza but he added one special ingredient…
He squeezed on a ring of the homemade Castle’s Patio Inn cheese that they’re famous for.

This was such a tasty pizza pie! The pizza at Castle’s Patio Inn is always delicious, but when you add the homemade garlic cheese spread it’s an absolutely delightful pizza pie!
We all agreed that it was a wonderful cheesy pizza pie!
They have a legendary condom machine that has never run out of condoms in decades in the ladies bathroom. Here’s Mae purchasing one and holding it up for display. This was such a fun night!

Due to the pandemic, Castle’s is closed except for Wednesday and Friday when Barb sells the homemade cheese in the tavern from 3pm to 6pm. You should stop by and get some cheese to keep this legendary Peoria tavern alive!
