When you think of Agatucci’s Restaurant, you think of pizza, spaghetti, tortellini, ravioli, their fantastic fried chicken and of course their Tiger Sauce. Most people don’t think of appetizers, but they have three appetizers and more important than that, they have an appetizer secret weapon!
Let’s go to Agatcucci’s and I’ll reveal their appetizer secret weapon!
Here we are at Agatucci’s, which has been standing tall here in this location since 1926. It’s a real historical and popular Peoria landmark and restaurant.
Whoops, the second “A” on the sign is unlit, let’s go into our Photoshop toolbox and see if we can do something about that…
There we go, all lit up again! Photoshop to the rescue!
There’s the sign on the side of the building that was uncovered last year!
Okay, let’s go inside and start this third week of appetizers!
I’m dining alone tonight, so let’s go grab a seat at the bar!
There’s Tony and Danny Agatucci, two of the nicest guys in the world and it’s always a pleasure to see them and catch up on things!
There’s the three appetizers I ordered, but I’m just going to be rating the Fried Ravioli because that’s my go-to appetizer in here!
And the appetizer secret weapon will be revealed when they come out of the kitchen, keep on scrolling to find out what that is!
There’s the back of the bar with the historic Hamm’s beer sign on the wall.
And here’s four of the beers on tap that you can order from the bar.
I always have to get a photo of the classic Michelob light hanging over the bar and there’s Frankie working this end of the bar.
Frankie said he’s been working here about a year and he’s going to school at Bradley University. It was a pleasure to meet him.
It’s Cardinal Country in here and Happy Birthday to Anne and Kathleen James, hope you both have a great year!
There’s the dining room and I love the wine bottle chandeliers that loom over the booths!
Tha back room has a whole wall of press clippings about Agatucci’s through the years.
Meanwhile, back at the bar, I met Danny’s brother, Frank!
He’s a nice guy and it’s always a pleasure to meet another Agatucci!
And then, like magic, our appetizers for the evening arrived!
From the left, Chicken Tenders, Fried Ravioli and Mozzarella Sticks.
And remember the appetizer secret ingredient I mentioned earlier?
Well, here it is…
It’s their homemade meat sauce!
This meat sauce is so flavorful and tasty, it brings up the flavor-level in anything you dip in it. You can dip a napkin in this meat sauce and it’s a delicious treat! And you can only get it here at Agatucci’s!
Okay, the Chicken Tenders and Mozzarella Sticks are tasty and wonderful appetizers, but my favorite appetizer here at Agatucci’s is the Fried Ravioli, so that’s the one we’re going to feature and rate.
These Fried Ravioli’s are crispy on the outside and filled with a tasty meaty filling inside.
They are so good and when you dip them into this delicious homemade Agatucci’s meat sauce, it’s like biting into a slice of heaven!
