The Green Door on Farmington Road has the dubious distinction of being Peoria’s oldest adult video-erotic boutique. They’ve been in business in this spot in West Peoria for over 40 years now!
I went there five years ago and took photos of The Green Door and since then it’s changed owners and I thought it would be fun to stop back and see how it looks today.
So let’s go check out Peoria’s oldest and locally-owned adult video boutique on Farmington Road in West Peoria.
Alright, here we are at The Green Door.
Outside it still looks the same and I wonder if they actually still sell videos in this day when internet porn is just a click away on your keyboard.

I walked in and the place has changed somewhat since my last visit.
Elizabeth was behind the counter looking cute in her red mask. She told me she’s the daytime manager here at the store.
She kindly invited me in and said I could take all the pictures I want in here, so that’s what I proceeded to do!
There’s all kinds of items in the front counter including a large selection of glass pipes for your smoking pleasure.
There’s lots of adult toys and even more pipes on the walls and shelves in here.

As I ventured to the back room, I discovered that there are VHS tapes still available here! There’s also DVD’s for sale and rent. This is like a trip back in time!
Now we travel even further back in time as they have a whole newsstand devoted to adult magazines!
While gazing at these R-rated print publications I traveled back in time and almost forgot that we’re in the middle of this foul year of 2020. I thank the Green Door for giving me a moment of peace while gazing at this nostalgic parade of print publications!
This week’s Pandemic Purchase was a no-brainer, I bought Fatty Patty and a vintage 1974 issue of Playboy, back when Hef was still in charge.
