Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Kenny’s Westside Pub with special guest stars, Dan, Erin, Tina, Tim, Jaime, Hayley, Sean and featuring musical guest stars, Beat The Meatles.
Now please welcome, from beautiful downtown Peoria, this week’s host, Kenny’s Westside Pub!
Here we are at Kenny’s Westside Pub in downtown Peoria on a lovely Saturday evening in May.
The band for the evening is Beat The Meatles and I’m anxious to see them perform.
I was getting ready to head inside, when I heard someone shout my name…
It turns out the shouters were my good friends, the Hennessey family! From left, Dan, Erin, Tina and Tim!
Tim has been my Spiritual Guru since 1973 and it was fabulous to see them, okay, now it’s time to abandon them and get back to this evening’s business! Adios, amigos!
Inside the door we go as we begin our Saturday night at Kenny’s Westside Pub!
As you can see the bar is fairly crowded, but I found some space that the end of it and then Jaime came over looking fabulous with a beer and she took my dinner order. I love it when this happens!
Here’s my view from the bar and there’s the nice selection of beers on tap.
There’s booths and tables in the dining area opposite the bar and there’s a gaming area in the back for all of you gamblers out there.
Here’s a wall with all of the anniversary posters hanging on it.
I can’t believe that Kenny’s is twelve years old, it seems like only yesterday I was doing my first post from the location on Farmington Road!
Meanwhile, back at the bar…
Dinner is served!
I got the Irish Sausage sandwich with a side of the Tots. The Tots were crispy, seasoned perfectly and delicious!
The Irish Sausage sandwich was phenomenal!
The Irish sausage is from Raber’s Packing Company and it is a juicy delight and seasoned perfectly. It’s topped with onions and peppers and melted habanero jack cheese.
What a tasty and delicious sandwich!
After dinner I wandered into the concert room and there’s tonight’s band, Beat The Meatles doing their sound check. They sound great and I’m anxious to see tonight’s show here at Kenny’s!
There’s lots to see on the walls in here as well and I love the specialized Kenny’s tables.
There’s the production duo who’s in charge of the mixing board and the lights for the show tonight.
They have a balcony in here over the bar that you can watch the show from, so I climbed up and thought we’d watch the start of the show from up in here.
The stage is all set and the crowd has arrived for the show.
Ladies and gentlemen…please welcome…
This was such a fantastic band! They play all the songs by The Beatles but they aren’t a tribute band at all. They play Beatle tunes and make them their own in a jam band style and it was a wonderful performance.
You can see a video of the show below, keep on scrolling!
They re-worked The Beatles songs that we all know and they really owned them and gave them their own signature sound. What a fabulous performance!
The light show and sound were spectacular!
As I was taking photos, Hayley came over and said hi. She’s looking fabulous as always and said that Sean was up in the Treehouse Lounge and invited me to go up and say hi.
There’s Hayley and her husband and the owner and operator of Kenny’s Westside Pub, Sean Kenny! The man himself!
Great to see Sean, as always and we had a nice conversation about how Kenny’s has grown through the years and how his other bar, The Friendly Valley Tavern is getting ready for their summer concert series, Jammin’ On The Lawn.
Sean has really turned both bars into the premier places for live music in Peoria and we should all be thankful for that!
What a great show and thanks to Beat The Meatles for bringing their spectacular show to Peoria and thanks to Sean and everyone at Kenny’s Westside Pub for a delightful Saturday night in downtown Peoria! I had a blast!
