Sheridan Village was once one of Peoria’s most vibrant and lively shopping destinations. Sadly, that’s all changed today. It’s still there, but it’s nothing like it was the way I remember it as a kid.
And the main store that drew people there got demolished back in that foul year of 2020!
Here’s some before and after photos of this legendary strip mall in Peoria.

RANDOM PHOTOS FROM THE PAST I FOUND ONLINE
Here’s some photos I found online of this shopping strip mall when it was one of Peoria’s must stop and shop destinations.
There’s the legendary sign and shots of a crowd heading towards Kresge’s, there’s Bergner’s, the Talking Christmas Tree at Bergner’s and a shot of an airplane with a lot of the stores at Sheridan Village behind it.
The good old days!

PHOTOS FROM A BLOG POST FROM 2013
And here’s some sad photos I took from a blog I did when I revisited Sheridan Village in 2013. Almost everything was empty except for Bergner’s.

Creepy Statue
This statue was located next to Bergner’s and it always totally creeped me out! It’s the look on the guy and the boy’s faces. Yikes!

PHOTOS FROM ANOTHER BLOG POST A YEAR LATER
I like the old Sheridan Village sign a lot better than this one.
There were still a lot of empty store fronts, but there was a nail shop, a tuxedo place, a Chinese restaurant and a HyVee grocery store in operation back then.
Only the HyVee is still in business today.
And Bergner’s is totally gone.
You can see the entire post of my 2014 visit here.

Sheridan Village May 9, 2025
Okay, here’s some photos I took yesterday of what’s here at Sheridan Village in 2025.
The sign is the same since when I took the photo back in 2014. Let’s go take a look at the rest of this shopping plaza.
The Hy-Vee has really expanded through the years. They now have a restaurant in there, a pharmacy, a Starbucks, a pharmacy drive-up window and a liquor store.
Next to the giganzo Hy-Vee is a Planet Fitness gym and workout club.
There’s the spot where Bergner’s once stood. I really thought they’d build another storefront here, but five years after it was demolished, it still stands empty.
Over here is a Chiro One Wellness Center, a nail place, a GNC store, a CL Plasma and a Verizon store. I think the CL Plasma place buys blood from people, I’ve thought about doing a blog from there, but it creeps me out as much as that statue in front of Bergner’s did!
The Verizon space was a Lums restaurant for years back in the day.
Over on this side is an empty storefront that was a Baskin and Robbins for years, there’s a beauty salon and another empty place which used to be a bank.
I find it strange that this sign on the Sheridan Road entrance doesn’t even say, Sheridan Village on it. That’s kind of weird.
Hy-Vee has a gas station and a convenience type store over here and there’s some stuff behind it, but it’s not in the original location, so I don’t consider these places part of Sheridan Village.

SHERIDAN VILLAGE VIDEOS
Here’s the infamous Sheridan Village Christmas Jingle Commercial.
Once you hear it, it’s an earworm for the entire day, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Here’s a collection reel of a bunch of Bergner’s commercials.
