I have to be honest, I wasn’t expecting a Mexican restaurant to be part of this 23 week grilled cheese tour. But then this popped up on facecrack:
A Birria Grilled Cheese Sandwich! That picture looks amazing, looks like we’ll be spending our fifteenth cheesy week at El Taco Loco!

Here we are at El Taco Loco.
They’ve been standing tall in this strip mall off of Sheridan Road since 2019. Their food is excellent and it’s always a friendly and fun atmosphere inside.
Let’s go in and you’ll see what I mean.
There were people ordering at the counter so I checked out the menus on the back wall and saw a picture of the Birria Grilled Cheese Sandwich on the front counter.
Elizabeth took my order along with flashing a beautiful smile! I told you it was friendly in here!
I love all the Mexican=styled art in here.
Here’s a display of some of the drinks offered up in here and there’s two banditos in between a Coca-Cola sign.
They have a bar that spans both windows to sit and dine at.
I decided to sit at the end in this corner.
My order is up and there’s Elizabeth serving it up!
The sandwich looks simply amazing and it comes with a generous pile of fries, a dipping sauce for the sandwich and I also ordered a little tub of queso cheese for dipping purposes.
The sandwich has cheese, seasoned Birria shredded beef, cilantro and chopped onions.
It looks and smells so good!
I dipped fries into both sauces as a warm up for this week’s grilled cheese sandwich.
I double-dipped the sandwich in both sauces and the flavor of this is simply amazing!
The Birria shredded beef is seasoned perfectly and the onions and cilantro add to this unique grilled cheese sandwich.
The bread is buttery and grilled to perfection. This was a taste sensation!

This sandwich was incredible! I am deducting a little because cheese really isn’t the dominant flavor here, so it’s going to get a rating of three and three quarters slices of cheese.
I highly recommend this marvelous sandwich!
