The Thursday Frozen Pizza Review - This Week: Rosati’s Authentic Chicago Pizza

Time for the bi-monthly Thursday Frozen Pizza review.

Let’s make tracks to this week’s frozen pizza aisle!

I thought we’d check out the frozen pizza pies at HyVee near Grand Prairie this week.

I don’t usually shop here because it’s just too damn big in there, but since we’re just getting a frozen pizza, I’ll make an exception to that rule.

Here’s the frozen pizza pie aisle and through the magic of these here interwebs…

We’re back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Dining area and this week’s frozen pizza is Rosati’s Authentic Chicago Pizza.

On the back of the box, they boast that it’s, “Chicago’s Greatest Thin Crust Pizza.”

Wow, that’s quite a bold boast to put on the box. I can see saying something like, “One Of The Best Thin Crust Pizzas From Chicago” or something like that, but to call yourself, “The Greatest” is borderline obnoxious!

Here’s the frozen pie out of the box.

It has nice distribution of the cheese, but it’s not the “greatest” pizza I’ve ever seen. Yes, I’m going to obsess over that claim during the whole review, so just leave me alone!

Into the oven it goes.

It’s going to bake for about twenty minutes, so…

Here’s twenty minutes of useless information.

And now, after twenty minutes of useless information, let’s take this week’s pizza pie out of the oven.

It looks good, but is this Chicago’s “greatest” thin crust pizza? We’ll soon find out!

The actual pizza to box photo isn’t too far off, I’ll give them points for that!

Now we’ll season the pie with the holy quartet of seasonings: Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce, Black Pepper, Butch’s Pizza Sauce and Butch’s Pizza Topping.

It’s seasoned, cut and now we’ll let it cool. I like my pizza room temperature.

While it cools, let’s watch this “greatest” motivational video in honor of this pizza’s boastful and somewhat obnoxious claim.

This pizza is pretty good, the sauce has a nice tang to it and the cheese is tasty.

But is this the “greatest” thin crust pizza from Chicago? Fuck to the no!

I’ll give this pizza a 6.5 rating.

These people need to learn there’s only one thing on earth that’s the “greatest” and of course we all know that it’s Ringo! Yeah, yeah, yeah.
