If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you probably know that when I go out, my usual choice for a drink is iced tea in the afternoon and beer in the evening.
Well, I thought tonight I’d switch it up and go out and have a few martini drinks. And what better place to go and get some martinis than Martinis on Water Street!
Let’s head on over to our 38th bar of this tour: Martinis On Water Street.

Bar Number 38: Martinis On Water Street, February 16, 2026
Here we are at Matinis on Water Street in downtown Peoria!
Let’s go in and begin our 38th night out on the town.
They have a spectacular wooden bar in here, it’s very impressive!
Here’s the nice view of the inside of the bar from where I’m seated.
Marice was one of the pretty and friendly bartenders on duty and she expertly mixed up a fabulous looking martini for me.
This is the first martini on the menu list and it’s an Almond Joy. It was indeed a joyous treat and a very tasty martini. We’re off to a fabulous start so far!
There’s the six beers on tap, a shot of the other side of this mammoth wooden bar and a state-of-the-art jukebox on the wall.
The stage for live music is behind that communal table and I love the elegant light fixtures hanging from the high ceiling in here.
It’s time for the second martini of the evening and this is the Lemon Drop Martini. It’s zesty and refreshing and is served with a sugary rim.
There’s a pool table and gaming machines in front of the bar and a nice room to relax in at the very front of the room.
Check out the telephone booth housing some bottles of vino and back at the bar…
The third and final martini of the evening is shaken and poured!
This is the Dirty Monkey martini and Marice topped it off with a drawing of a monkey’s face in chocolate! If you squint just right, it does kind of look like Davy Jones in need of a bath!
Thanks to Marice and everyone at Martinis for a wonderful and fun evening!
