Jim’s SteakHouse has been one of Peoria’s most popular dining destinations since they opened up in downtown Peoria and then in 1960 out at Junction City. They moved the operation downtown to the basement of the Janssen Law Center in the early ’90’s on Jefferson Avenue in downtown Peoria. They serve up some of the best steak entrees in the area and they also have delicious poultry, pasta and seafood dinners as well.
Their bar area is dark and elegant and features live piano bar music on the weekends.
Below are some online articles about Jim’s Steakhouse and a WGN interview with Tim Comfort, who took over the reins when his father Jim retired. Tim’s children, Kristin and Nick are now running the restaurant, but you’ll still see Tim in there overseeing the juicy operation.
When celebrities come to Peoria, they usually dine at Jim’s and the wall is filled with signed photos of famous people who have come to Jim’s Steakhouse through the years. There’s links to two PJ Star articles about two recent celebrity dining experiences at the downtown steakhouse.
Below that are some links to MBIP posts I’ve done through the years while dining at the iconic Jim’s Steakhouse.
