A Lovely Pizza Pie @: One World Cafe

by MBIP

My friend, Kevin used to be the chef at Caste’s Patio Inn, back in the days when it was still owned and operated by Barb Castle. The years have moved on and people shift around in their work situations and Kevin is now a chef at another fine Peoria restaurant, One World Cafe.

He recently invited me over to One World to try a pizza and I’ve never had their pizza before, so I think you know where the next stop on this blog is going to be…

One World Cafe on the corner of Main Street right near Bradley University!

The sign in the window says, “Come On In,” so let’s go on in!

The sign at the host station says “wait to be seated,” so I waited and within seconds, Jack and Samara came over and led me to my seat…

At the bar in the back of the front area.

Kimberly, the pretty woman working the bar area came over, said hello and I ordered an iced tea and asked to see my friend, Kevin.

And just like magic, there’s my friend, Kevin, who’s looking spectacular these days!

Great to see him again and we checked out the pizza selections on the menu. I decided on the Spicy Pig which is a marinara pizza topped with cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni, ham, bacon and jalapenos. It sounds delicious!

Kevin went back to the kitchen to cook up today’s pizza pie lunch and I’ll take some photos in the meantime. If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know that this is what I do!

There’s the back of the bar and a shot from the end of the bar.

Large booths line the wall opposite the bar, there’s the daily specials and they have t-shirts and other One World merch on display here in the front dining area.

There’s the main dining room with tables and booths for dining in here.

I love the art in One World and as I was taking pictures, I ran into a friend I haven’t seen for a while and we had a nice conversation and caught up on things. We’ve been friends since we both were in grade school at St. Vincent’s, so it was fun to catch up on our lives.

My friend is a little camera-shy, so she declined to pose for a photo, but her friend Judy, who she was having lunch with posed and flashed a gorgeous smile for the MBIP Camera. Great to see and chat with both of them!

Kelly brought their check over and she posed for a photo while looking absolutely beautiful!

Great to meet her, everyone at One World is friendly and certainly makes you feel like you’re part of the One World family!

Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like our pizza pie lunch is about to be served!

Right on cue, Kevin comes out the the Spicy Pig pizza and it looks absolutely divine! Time to dig in and try it out!

Wow, this was such a tasty and delicious pizza pie!

The crust was thin and crispy and the pizza was equal parts savory and spicy! Definitely one of the tastiest pizzas in town!

Thanks to Kevin, Kimberly and everyone at One World for a fantastic and delicious pizza pie afternoon!
