Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host Jimador Authentic Mexican Cuisine and featuring a special guest star whose name I’ve forgotten.
Now please welcome from Campustown, Jimador Authentic Mexican Cuisine!
My original plan was to have dinner here at Junior’s Fish and Chicken off of Main Street. It’s owned by the same family that own Las Delicias Ice Cream around the corner and I’ve been meaning to stop by and try it out.
Well, I got here and the lights are out and the door is locked. It says they’re open until 11:30pm on Saturday night and it’s currently a little after 7pm.
Oh well, time to improvise.
Another place I’ve been meaning to try is Loaded which is just a couple blocks down the road on Main Street.
I went in and told the woman behind the counter about the blog and that I’d like to order dinner and take some pictures of the place.
She had never heard of the blog and seemed confused about the fact I wanted to take pictures and said she’d have to check with someone in the back room. She left, came back and said that the owner wasn’t there and that he’d call me later.
I explained I had to do this now and she went back and talked to the person in the back again and then came out and said I couldn’t take pictures in there.
So I left. Sometimes this isn’t an easy gig!
As I left Loaded, I looked across the street and saw the Jimador Authentic Mexican Cuisine sign in Campustown.
I decided to try that place and if they say no, then we’ll get a frozen pizza and just go home!
It looks nice in here, it’s been a while since I’ve been in this Mexican restaurant.
There’s plenty of seats at the bar, so let’s settle in there!
This pretty and friendly woman brought me some chips and salsa and I wrote her name down on a napkin and I lost it and don’t remember her name. If by chance she sees this, let me know and I’ll correct this!
I also got a lime margarita.
I placed my order and our Saturday night is finally happening after two false starts! This third stop is definitely a charm!
The chips and salsa were delicious and a tasty start to our Saturday night here in Jimadores!
There’s the back of the well stocked bar and the two beers on tap.
There’s a couple of gaming machines for those of you that feel lucky out there.
Here’s a shot from the back of the dining room and comfortable booths line the walls in here. There’s a large communal table up front that overlooks Main Street.
I love how every table is its own piece of art in here!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like our Saturday night dinner is about to be served up!
And whoomp, here it is, our Saturday night dinner!
I got the Steak Laredos dinner which is a T-Bone Steak topped with fresh grilled shrimp, sauteed onions, grilled peppers and a side of rice.
It looks fabulous, let’s dig in!
I added some hot sauce to the entree and this was such a delicious treat!
The rice was tasty and the shrimp and steak were flavorful delights! What a fantastic entree!
The dinner was served with fresh tortilla, so I made a fantastic soft taco featuring the tasty ingredinets of this meal.
What a fabulous dinner, thanks to everyone at Jimador for the delicious dinner and friendly atmosphere and service!
After dinner I noticed the Insomniac Cookie store next door. I went inside and there was quite a crowd in there, so I got in line and ordered up a cookie for dessert.
I got a Red Velvet Cheesecake Cookie and it was so sweet and satisfying!
It was warm, had nuts in it and a sweet cheesecake filling!
What a sweet treat to end this Saturday night on!
