Sunday Links: Phil Spector’s “A Christmas Gift For You” - Plus: The MBIP Coming Attractions!

by MBIP

On November 22, 1963, the album I consider the ultimate rock ’n roll Christmas album was released. The original title was, “A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records” and it was later renamed, “A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector.”

t was a collection of classic Christmas songs performed by Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound vocal groups including, The Ronettes, The Crystals, Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans and solo artist, Darlene Love.

It’s been re-released several times through the years, including a legendary re-release on The Beatles Apple label in 1972.

It’s my favorite Christmas album and since Christmas is right around the corner, I’ve found six links to online articles about this classic album and a video link about the LP..

Plus there’s The MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s happening and what’s not happening on the blog in the next couple of weeks. Ho, ho and ho!

MBIP Coming Attractions

Monday: There’s been so much talk about the opening of the Raising Cane’s here in Peoria, which I’m happy to see a new business come into town and be successful, but I’ve always been a fan of supporting local places on this blog. Therefore I consider it my duty to compare the chain restaurant to a local place that’s been serving up their own chicken fingers for years now, Weaver’s Fresh Food & Drink. Tune in tomorrow to see who wins this fowl finger duel!

Tuesday: We’re finishing up the MBIP Appetizer Tour and for the final installment of this series, I got some frozen appetizers and cooked them up at The MBIP World Headquarters.

Wednesday: I’m taking a personal day on Wednesday because I need to get some stuff done. I’ll put up a personal picture to make up for a non-posting day!

Thursday: We’re going to wind up our Six Shops of Xmas tour and I need to figure out a shop to visit for the last week.

Friday: Since it getting close to Christmas, we’ll be having some Christmas snacks on this week’s Friday Bites snacking post.

Saturday: I have a special announcement going up Saturday, so tune in for that!
