The Six Shops Of Xmas - Shop Number Two: Acme Comics & Books

by MBIP

We’re continuing our countdown tour of the six local Peoria shops you should visit while buying gifts for your family and friends and our second stop is one of my favorite shops in Peoria, Acme Comics and Books.

Bob Gordon started this store back in 1991 and has grown it over the years to become Peoria’s premier comic book and collectible store. The store is a treasure-trove of comics, books, records, action figures and all kinds of collectible and unique items you won’t find anywhere else.

Let’s go and take a look and get some photos of Acme Comics and Books on this Six Shops of Xmas MBIP holiday tour!

Here we are at Acme Comics and Books, one of Peoria’s most unique shops, let’s go in and take a look around.

As you can see, the shop is loaded with inventory and I see a familiar face behind the counter over there…

It’s my friend and the owner and operator of Acme Comics, Bob Gordon!

Always great to see Bob and he told me to feel free to walk around and take some photos in here and so that’s exactly what we’ll do!

There’s some collectible comics in the front display counter along with some items for sale by local artist, Jeremy Berkley.

Acme has the largest selection of comics for sale in Peoria and beyond! This is just a sampling of the many titles for sale in here.

Chucky is standing guard over a case of figurines and there’s an entire wall of graphic novels to peruse in the store.

Acme has a big selection of DVD’s and there’s even VHS tapes in here for you old school viewers!

CD’s are on display over here in this corner of the shop.

There’s a large selection of albums to purchase and the titles include The Monkees, Floyd Cramer, The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Check out the stacks of cassettes and eight track tapes on the shelves above the albums.

Litlle Golden Books has started publishing pop culture titles including books about Michael J. Fox, Seinfeld and Dolly Parton.

There’s an upcoming Little Golden Book that’s coming out next year in May that I’m really excited about, it’s a Little Golden Book about Jimmy Buffett and the author is a friend of mine, Donna Rocco!

I’ve been friends with Donna for decades and we met when we both worked together in New York City. Donna’s a talented photographer and she’s now branched out into writing and is the author of this forthcoming Little Golden Book about Jimmy Buffett! This is so cool!

You can pre-order this book by clicking right here!

I’ll have more reports about Donna and this book as the release date gets closer! Stay tuned and congratulations, Donna on this wonderful achievement!
