I’ve had many dinners and lunches at the West Town Tap, but I’ve never sampled appetizers there. Well, that all changes today as we mark our seventh week sampling pre-dinner goodies a.k.a. appetizers!

And we have a special guest star this week, so let’s travel on over to West Town Tap and start week number seven of the MBIP 2025 Appetizer Tour!

Here we are at The West Town Tap on Western Avenue in West Peoria! Welcome to the Wild West, Peoria style!

The doors is open, so let’s go inside and start week number seven of our MBIP 2025 Appetizer Tour!

Normally, I’d sit at the bar, but as I mentioned in the introduction, we have a special guest star today and I think I see him over at that table in the dining room opposite the bar…

There he is, my friend and today’s appetizer guest star, Mike! Always great to see his smiling face, let’s settle in at the table and start this edition of the Appetizer Tour!

Donna was our friendly waitress and I’ve taken her picture in here on a past visit. Fabulous to see her again and I love that smile!

She took our order and you’ll see what we got if you just keep scrolling along here.

Here’s the owner and operator of West Town Tap, Chris Herold! Always great to see Chris and he said things have been going great in here.

Chris also owns Herold’s Pizza Tavern and the Bloody Mary Brunch Company. He’s a busy guy and I appreciate him taking the time to stop by, say hello and pose for a picture!

While the appetizers are being prepared, I’ll take a few more photos in here. Hey, it’s what I do!

There’s a couple more shots of the bar and there’s tables opposite the bar on the other side of it as you walk in the front door.

There’s gaming machines in the back of the bar area if you’re feeling lucky!

Comfortable booths line the far wall in the dining room and there’s the daily drink specials on the wall.

Meanwhile, back at our table…

Our trio of appetizers have arrived and they look absolutely fabulous!

From the top we got: an order of their homemade onion rings, the Mushroom Fries and an order of the Ale Battered Shrimp.

Every appetizer comes with its own dipping sauce and they look phenomenal! Time to dig in!

Mike enjoyed all three and gave the tasty trio of appetizers, two thumbs up!

All three of these tasty appetizers are made fresh in the kitchen and they were a delicious treat!

Appetizer Rating

I loved all three, but my favorite was the Ale Battered Shrimp with the tasty cocktail sauce. They were crispy on the outside and so tasty and juicy on the inside. The cocktail sauce complimented them perfectly with just a little bit of zing in the sauce.

Simply delicious!
