I’m running a day late this week but it’s time for the weekly update on how I’m doing with the writing of my forthcoming book, “Confessions Of A Spiteful Writer.”
I got about half of Chapter Eleven written and I’m hoping to finish that this week and start in on and maybe even finish Chapter Twelve! In my outline, I have 21 chapters, so I’m about halfway to the finish line!
I also filmed a new video filmed for my YouTube Channel. The video is part of my “Spiteful Stories” and in this one I’m telling the story of the last issue of fishwrap, which was a tribute to The Beach Boys, Smile, album, which was unreleased at the time.

Chapter Eleven: 1993-1994: The First Issue Of Fishwrap
I called Clare that evening and caught her up on what was happening to me in New York City. I told her about NY Newsday and how pissed off I was about how the whole “no college” thing continued to haunt me. I told her my fanzine idea and she loved it. Especially the idea about doing it in a Talk Soup-esque style. She said she’d been watching that show too and that the humor reminded her of me.
I was excited that she wanted to work on it with me and I asked her if she’d like to be the art director and work up a logo and do the page layout for it and she said she’d love to. I said that would be great. We talked a little more and I said the first thing we needed to do was to think up a name for the fanzine.
“It has to be perfect!” I excitedly spat out.
