I have a new Friday series starting this week with today’s post and as you’ve read, it’s called, “The Friday Sweet Spot.”

Most of the food I eat on the blog tends to be either savory, spicy or both.

I do like a sweet treat now and again, so I thought on this-coming Friday’s posts, I’d feature something on the sweet side. I’ll be sampling sweet treats from restaurants, ice cream shops, candy stores and anyplace where they stock sweet treats!

One food item that popped into my head when I was thinking about this subject was pancakes. I haven’t had a pancake in years, in fact the last time I had a pancake on here was back in 2016, when I had a Saturday night dinner at the Last Chance Bar & Grill.

It’s time to return to the scene of the crime…uh, make that the pancake. Okay, it’s off we go!

The Friday Sweet Spot - The Last Chance Bar & Grill

And here we are at the Last Chance Bar & Grill. We need to go to the side of the building to where the entrance is.

Here we are and let’s go inside and see what’s happening inside.

They do a big lunch business here, but since it’s before noon when I’m showing up today, there’s plenty of seats at the bar, so I snagged the one that’s front and center and grabbed a menu.

Check it out, they have a “Sweet Delights” section of the menu, how perfect is that?

I decided to order a Chocolate Chip Deluxe Pancake for today’s Friday Sweet Spot entree.

Cortney served us up an iced tea and took my sweet pancake luncheon order.

After I ordered, Ashley came over and said hello. She told me she had seen previous posts on MBIP from the Last Chance and I thanked her for being a reader of the blog.

Then, out of the clear blue sky, Kramer arrived and told me he’s working here now. It was great to see him and he invited me to his 40th birthday party at the Tartan Inn.

Here’s a shot of the bar from the left angle and one from the end that proves it’s one of the longest bars in Peoria.

There’s the half dozen beers on tap in here.

There’s wooden tables opposite the bar to sit at and there’s gaming machines in the back corner of the room behind them for all of you gambler’s out there.

Down the long hallway leads to yet another dining room in here. Yes, it’s bigger than it looks from on the outside and there’s even more rooms in here…

This door leads to yet another room which used to be a smoking room.

I’m not sure if it still is because I didn’t see any ashtrays in here. But I quit smoking about four years ago so I don’t really give a fuck one way or the other, so let’s just keep moving along here.
