I started doing my “Saturday Night Cheeseburger” posts back when I was doing my 365 bar blog back in 2010. Here’s a link to the first one from the Stoned Crow bar, which sadly is now closed.

I continued this tradition with my two other New York Blogs, Marty After Dark and Tripping With Marty. When I moved back to Peoria I continued the Saturday Night Cheeseburger theme until I kind of ran out of places to get a cheeseburger at. So I started to just get a meal and changed the title to Saturday Night.

But every now and again I hear about a cheeseburger that I haven’t sampled and this happened back in 2018 when I had heard that the Germantown Grille had won an award for the best cheeseburger in the area. So of course I went and tried it out.

Here we are at Germantown Grille and as you can see, they do have carry out if you’re social distancing.

As you can see they had a decent crowd in here, but I managed to find a seat at the end of the bar.

And now it’s cheeseburger time! This is Rachel serving up the burger with a beautiful smile!

They have ten burger selections on their menu and I chose the Western cheeseburger.

This is a half pound burger topped with barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, haystack onions and crisp, smoky bacon.

It was such a tasty and satisfying cheeseburger! It was a delicious combination of flavors and the bakery fresh bun and crispy haystack onions took it over the top.

I can see why they won the best burger award, because this was truly an award-winning cheeseburger.

After the burger I visited with my friend John Ingles from Smiley Graphix and Melody who insisted we came from “Table 6.” It was a little confusing, but what are you going to do?
