Last Thursday marked the 58th anniversary of the night that Johnny Carson took over the Tonight Show from the original host, Jack Paar. In honor of this anniversary I’ve got six links to online articles and one classic video from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Ed Ames.

Then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions.

Okay…Here’s Johnny!

A Timeline of Johnny Carson's Life - There were no commercial interruptions until 1957.

Theeeeere’s Johnny! - Most people remember The Tonight Show as being based in Los Angeles, but for the first ten years it was broadcast from New York City and this Vanity Fair article highlights that decade.

Johnny Carson: The Rolling Stone Interview - Johnny Carson was pretty private and didn’t give a lot of interviews, but he opened up to writer Timothy White for this Rolling Stone interview.

Joan Rivers: Why Johnny Carson "Never Ever Spoke to Me Again" - Johnny Carson was someone who helped make Joan Rivers a comedy star, but turned his back on her when she started a rival talk show on the Fox Network.

Johnny Carson: The Man Who Retired - Bill Zehme scored the last print interview that Johnny Carson ever did for the June, 2002 issue of Esquire magazine.

Carson good at drinking, dames and being a d!@# - Johnny Carson had a brother named Dick, but Johnny could also live up to that name as this 2013 NY Post article reveals.

Ed Ames Teaches Johnny To Throw A Tomahawk: A classic Tonight Show clip!
