Okay, over in East Peoria there’s a Vietnam Traveling Wall Exhibit and today is the last day that it’s going to be there, so I thought that would be a good destination for today’s Socially Distant Sunday’s destination.
So let’s get in the MBIP Mobile and hit the road!
So I drove over to East Peoria and it’s such a fucking mess over there with road construction and my GPS had me going around in circles and it finally led me back to Peoria!
I ended up back on Main Street so there was only one thing to do on this confusing and messed up Socially Distant Sunday…
And that was to stop at Las Delicias on Main Street and get a cup of their homemade ice cream!
I love this place and they always have such a great selection of sweet treats in here!
I got a cup of the pecan ice cream with hot caramel on top of it. Mary scooped it out for me and served it up.
Even though she’s got a face mask on, you can see she’s smiling underneath it!
They have picnic tables outside for socially distance dining.
Wow, the ice cream was so delicious! It was sweet, creamy and the caramel topped it off nicely.
This was a wonderful treat on a Sunday afternoon.
As I was finishing it, I looked over and saw somewhat of a frightening sight on the picnic table.
Is this a Murder Hornet…aaahhh!
After Las Delicias and my Murder Hornet encounter I went to Schnuck’s to get items for this week’s Sunday dinner.
I thought I’d keep it simple this week and have chicken meatballs and a single serving of mashed potatoes.
And the first course for this Sunday dinner is a Bud Light tallboy! Cheers!
I topped the chicken meatballs off with some barbecue sauce and Tabasco Mustard.
I put some grated shredded cheese on top of the mashed potatoes to add a little flavor to them.
I also threw some of the shredded cheese on top of the meatballs after I microwaved them.
Here’s this week’s Sunday night dinner, let’s dig in!
It was a delicious two-course Sunday dinner! But now it’s Tuesday, so we’ll see you all tomorrow!
