Is a cheeseburger a sandwich? According to this article it is and I happen to agree. So this week’s Peoria spotlit sandwich is a cheeseburger.

But it’s not just any cheeseburger, it’s the Cheddar Bacon Burger from Jim’s Bistro and as you’ll see, it’s a pretty special and tasty cheeseburger!

Jim’s Bistro in the Heights is known for steaks and their Sunday night fried chicken special. One somewhat hidden gem on their menu is their cheeseburgers. They have five different styles to choose from and way back on May 20th, 2013 I went and ordered the Cheddar Bacon Burger.

And there it is, plated up with pickles, lettuce, tomato and their giganzo steak fries!

This is one fantastic cheeseburger, probably one of the best I’ve ever had!

The beef is fresh, they grind it in-house and it’s very flavorful. The bun is bakery-fresh and toasted and the cheddar cheese is tangy and rich. The thing that takes this burger over the top is the bacon. It’s cooked in brown sugar and is smoky and sweet and adds a delicious flavor layer to the burger!
