This is one of my favorite interviews of all time because of the great stories that David Dalton has of the early days of writing for Rolling Stone and how he met and interviewed Charles Manson and lived briefly with the Manson family while writing a 1970 cover story on Manson for Rolling Stone. He also discusses his friendship with Linda Eastman (later Linda McCartney), Rolling Stone publisher and editor, Jann Wenner, Woodstock, Altamont and how horrible he thinks the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of fame is.
