Okay, we’re officially into the 200’s here on the 365 bar crawl and that can only mean one thing: Tacos!

Bar Number 201: Whiskey Taco, Thursday, August 27, 2026

Here we are at Whiskey Taco in Pekin. When I was looking at their facecrack page I noticed that they opened up in 2023, which amazed me. I remember when they opened and it doesn’t seem like three years ago! Time flies when you have a daily blog, I guess!

Let’s go in and see what’s going on in Whiskey Taco on this fine Thursday evening in Pekin, Illinois!

There’s the front dining room and opposite that is our destination for th evening, the bar!

I think I see our special guest star for the evening seated over there…

It’s my friend, Bill Molleck who’s been featured on this blog a few times in the past. Always fun to have Bill along for the evening’s festivities!

Bill’s got his beer, time for me to get a drink to start this evening off!

Beth was the friendly and pretty bartender on duty and here she is serving me up a margarita. On Thursday’s margarita’s are just five bucks all night long. Since Bill is driving, I think I’ll have more than one!

She took our dinner order and everything is running smoothly this evening!

There’s the back of the bar and the dozen beers on tap back there. Beth took the photo of the taps, thanks, Beth! She’s not only a great bartender, she’s a fantastic photographer too!

Bill and I split an order of chicken wings for a pre-taco appetizer and we got the sweet-chili wings. They were tasty and delicious chicken wings and a wonderful start to our dinner.

Now, while that aforementioned dinner is being prepared, I’ll take some photos in here. Hey, it’s what I do!

The Whiskey Taco wall is very cool and there’s the daily specials listed on this board over here.

They have live music in here on featured nights and tonight we were being entertained by the acoustic duo of Kaiden and Chad. They sounded terrific and the crowd was loving them!

Whiskey Taco is much bigger than it looks from the outside, there’s another dining room back here!

This is a big space back here with plenty of dining tables and chairs!

Meanwhile, back at the bar…

Our tacos have arrived!

We got a trio of tacos for the evening’s dinner. I got the two on the left, the Classic Taco and the Bang Bang Shrimp Taco and Bill got the taco on the right, the Carne Asada steak taco.

They look absolutely fabulous!
