Okay, today we’re heading out in the daytime hours to meet my friend, Virgil for lunch in East Peoria at the Country Saloon.

I’ve never been to the Country Saloon, so let’s make like Marie and be a little bit country today!

Bar Number 157: Country Saloon, Monday, July 6, 2026

Here we are at the Country Saloon in East Peoria. I’ve driven by here many times but I’ve never stopped in. Let’s go inside and check this place out!

There’s a decent crowd in here for a Monday afternoon and I think I see a familiar face over there at the bar…

It’s my friend Virgil who I mentioned in the introduction! Always great to see Virgil and catch up on things.

Vanessa was the pretty and friendly bartender on duty and here she is serving me up a can of Bud Light. We’re off to a wonderful start today!

I like the jean back pocket coasters they use in here. It’s a nice country touch!

Here’s our view of the well-stocked bar in here and there’s the half dozen beers on tap behind the bar.

Check out the beer can airplanes hanging down from the ceiling overhead. Very cool!

Here’s a shot from the corner of the bar and there’s gaming machines directly behind it if you’re in a gambling mood.

There’s a dining aread with tables directly opposite the bar over here.

Meanwhile, back at the bar, a condiment basket has been placed in front of us, meaning lunch is on the way!

And here’s that aforementioned lunch!

Virgil got a chicken wrap with fresh cut fries and I got the steak bite salad. The food was really tasty and delicious! You should stop in for lunch or dinner and check it out!

After lunch we stepped outside to check out the beer porch on the side of the building.

Wow, this is a cool porch area out here! I love the license plates and signs hanging overhead. I doubt that the cell phone prohibited sign is still enforced though!
