The Sunday Lou’s Drive-in Palate Cleanser - Week Number Four: A Vanilla Milkshake, Chili-Cheese Fries and a Chili-Cheese Double Bacon Cheeseburger

by MBIP

It’s time for the weekly trip to Lou’s Drive-In as we take a break from the bars and eat the entire menu. Let’s go, I’m starvin’ like Marvin over here!

The Sunday Lou’s Drive-In Palate Cleanser: Week Number Four

Here we are at Lou’s Drive-In, an iconic Peoria landmark!

There’s the Lou’s island and we’ll take a glance at the menu, even though I know what I’m going to order this week.

Taylor and Izzy took my order and posed for this photo with both of them looking cute behind the counter!

Today is another cheeseburger special, kind of like last week!

There’s the Lou’s Drive-In sign, pointing us back home to MBIP World Headquarters.

The MBIP World Headquarters Dining Area

Here’s this week’s lunch from Lou’s Drive-In. Let’s put it on a plate and see what we have for this week’s lunch from Lou’s.

This week I got a vanilla milkshake, chili-cheese fries and a double bacon cheeseburger with an extra order of chili and cheese. I’m going to improvise on the cheeseburger this week. Keep on scrolling to see what I’m talking about!

Wow, the vanilla milkshake was so tasty!

It was a sweet, thick and rich treat and it had a ton of sweet flavor! I really enjoyed this milkshake! We’re off to a fantastic start here today!

This week’s side dish is the chili-cheese fries, which is always my go-to side dish at Lou’s Drive-In.

This is a tasty and delicious side dish from Lou’s Drive-In.

The rich, creamy cheese compliments the savory chili sauce and the fries are the perfect crispy and tasty dipping utensil for the two condiments.

Okay, on to the main course, the double bacon cheeeburger.

Just like last week, I got it with bacon, onion and mustard. It looks like we got more bacon this week and I also was inspired by the chili-cheese fries this week…

So I decided to get an extra order of chili and cheese and turn this into a double bacon chili and cheeseburger.

Wow, it looks amazing! Let’s try this out!

It was a little sloppy to eat, but it was so tasty and delicious!

I think I may start adding chili and cheese to the other sandwiches as we move along here, stay tuned!

The Menu

Well we’ve eaten our way through all of the side dishes, but still have plenty of drinks and main courses to sample.

The Ratings

The Chili-Cheese Dog remains in first place in the sandwich category and the Chili-Cheese Fries and the Vanilla Milkshake have taken over the number one slots in their respective categories.

——

The Suggested Lou’s Drive-In Meal

Okay, just as I predicted last week, the suggested Lou’s Drive-In Meal has changed. It now consists of a Vanilla Milkshake, Chili-Cheese Fries and a Chili-Cheese Dog.

Could this remain as the ultimate Lou’s Drive-In Meal? Stay tuned and find out in the upcoming week’s as we continue to eat the Lou’s Drive-In Menu all summer longj!

Cramer…

Cramer was a one-of-a-kind person. He didn’t live for the moment, he lived for the second and he didn’t do a lot of looking backwards.

I knew him for over a decade, and he appeared on the blog many times. Anytime I saw Cramer or thought of him a smile would immediately come to my face. If you know someone like that, consider yourself lucky.

I knew Cramer and I consider myself lucky. I hope you knew him too and if you did, you know this world is just a little more cold now that he’s not here anymore.

Thanks for the time we had together, Cramer. I’ve met a ton of people, but I’ve never met anyone quite as original or unique like you. I should be sad right now, but thinking back on the times I had with you, a huge smile is on my face. Thanks, Cramer, I was lucky to have known and be friends with you.

Don’t rest in peace, continue to let the good times rock and roll, wherever you are, my friend…
