The Sunday Steering Wheel Meal - This Week: Dirty Bird Chicken Co.

by MBIP

A new chicken restaurant recently opened up right next to the Bloody Mary Brunch Co., which was our third stop on our bar tour back in January. It makes sense that it opened up next door because both restaurants are owned by Chris Herold.

I thought we’d check it out for this week’s Sunday Steering Wheel Meal and so it’s off we go!

The Sunday Steering Wheel Meal - This Week: Dirty Bird Chicken Co.

Okay, the MBIP Mobile is parked and there’s the Dirty Bird Chicken Co. Let’s go in and see what’s happening inside.

I checked out the menu, placed my order at the front counter and there’s the kitchen where our Sunday Steering Wheel Meal is being prepared at this very moment in time.

Something bothers me about this slogan and piece of art and that is the fact that chickens don’t really have hands. Trust me, I researched this!

Okay, our order is ready, so it’s back to the MBIP Mobile we go.

The fan is turned off because it’s not too hot out today and the radio is tuned to 93.3 The Drive. Don Henley’s The Boys Of Summer is currently playing.

The Sunday Steering Wheel Meal

Okay,, time to set up the steering wheel tray for this week’s Sunday Steering Wheel Meal.

There’s this week’s bag of food which we’ll transfer to the steering wheel tray.

Okay, here’s the meal, time to dig in!

——

The Drink

I got an Aquafina bottle of water, but later after looking closer at their menu, I probably should’ve gotten one of their specialty milkshakes. We may have to return to try one of those out.

——

The Meal

I got The Dirty Bird sandwich with a side of Krinkle Cut Fries.

——

Course Number One: The Side Dish

As I’ve stated repeatedly on here, I’m not a big fan of Krinkle cut fries, I prefer skinny fries, so maybe I should’ve gotten a different side dish. These weren’t bad, but I like a skinnier french fry.

——

Course Number Two: The Main Dish

I got their signature sandwich, The Dirty Bird. This is a large fried chicken breast with their house-made Dirty Sauce and pickles.

The sandwich is huge! Let’s try it out.

As I stated, this is a huge sandwich, but there’s not a lot of flavor happening. The breading has some seasoning and the sauce has a little bit of flavor, but overall it's a little on the bland side. I think I should’ve ordered the Nashville Heat sandwich which sounds a lot spicier.

It looks like I ordered all the wrong things here, I’ll definitely come back and give them a second chance.

——

Course Number Three: The Dessert

They had Fried Oreos on the dessert menu and that sounded like a sweet treat, so I got an order of them.

Wow, these were a tasty and sweet treat! I definitely made the right dessert choice, now I need to come back and try a different drink, sandwich and side dish.

We’ll definitely give The Dirty Bird a second chance. Stay tuned!

Once again I forgot to take the rear-view mirror shot, so here’s a creepy little rear-view meme to end this post.

We’ll be back with another bar tomorrow. See you then!
