I thought that on Friday’s on this bar crawl, we’d go to a bar in the afternoon and have lunch. And so today we’re heading to Donnelly’s Irish Pub and we’re meeting a special guest star.
Let’s head on over there and see who this special guest star is!

Bar Number Seven: Donnelly’s Irish Pub • Friday, January 16, 2026
Here we are at Donnelly’s Irish Pub and they are now open on Sunday’s from noon to 8PM! Hooray!
Let’s go inside and start off our seventh day of this 365 journey.
There’s the bar, let’s grab a seat and get settled in here.
There’s Dan the bartender delivering an ice cold bottle of Budweiser. Dan’s been bartending here at Donnelly’s for over 13 years!
And here’s the special luncheon guest star of the day, my friend, Adam Duvall!
Adam’s a sports writer at PJ Star and he also ate popcorn every single day in 2023! Who in the world would do the same thing every day for an entire year? Oh, wait a minute, never mind! Here’s a link to Adam on his 250th day of popcorn eating!
Great to see him as always!
We started lunch off with an order of chicken wings and they were juicy, tasty and had just the right amount of spice and zing to them! We’re off to a tasty start to this lunch!
There’s the back of the bar and as you can see, they have a decent amount of beers available on tap!
Here’s a shot from the other end of their impressive bar in here.
There’s tables opposite the bar, booths line the wall and there’s the corner dining table over here.
They have a large dining room in here and comfortable booths line the walls.
Meanwhile, back at the bar…
Bartender Dan is serving up our lunch!
Adam got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries, I got their Waterford Chicken Sandwich and we split an order of the homemade potato chips.
Everything looks absolutely delicious!
There’s Adam’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich which comes dressed with Cilantro Cole Slaw and pickles. There’s my Waterford Chicken Sandwich which is topped with bacon, seared mushrooms, pepperjack cheese and Chipotle Mayonnaise.
The lunches look fabulous, time to dig in to them!
I added a nice dollop of mustard to the sandwich and it was so delicious!
The chicken breast was juicy and flavorful and the bacon, seared mushrooms and melted cheese complimented it perfectly and it was so tasty!
The bun was bakery fresh and took it over the top. This is absolutely one of the best chicken sandwiches in Peoria and you can only get it at Donnelly’s Irish Pub!
