I first started going to The Basket Case in the late ’80’s. Back then I was working third shift at Fleming Potter and they opened The Basket Case up at six in the morning. I would get out of work around seven in the morning, drive up Main Street and be having my first beer around 7:15AM!
These days it doesn’t open until 11AM, but it stays open until 2AM. It’s also Peoria’s only Karaoke bar that has live Karaoke seven nights a week. I thought it would be a nice place for our fifth stop on this tour, so let’s head on over to The Basket Case!

And here we are and it looks all sparkly inside, let’s go in and see what’s happening in here this evening!
Wow, the Christmas decorations are still up in here and it is quite a festive looking bar!
And speaking of festive looking, there’s our pretty and friendly bartender for the evening, Addy serving up the first of several cans of Budweiser!

I saw a familiar face over there and it’s Danette, the pretty owner of The Basket Case!
Danette’s owned The Basket Case since 2014 and she also owns the Brass Bull Tavern in Morton. We’ll have to stop by there soon!
Danette said things are going great here and she said she’s honored to be the fifth bar on our 365 tour! Wonderful to see her!
There’s gaming machines in the back of the bar and a lone machine on this side wall opposite the bar for all of you gamblers out there.
