Last February, Pottstown Meat And Deli moved from their location in The Metro Centre back to their original location on Southport Road.
I’ve been meaning to stop by and check it out and you know what? Today is that day. Let’s hit the road!
Okay, this was a pleasant surprise in how quickly I got here. I’m an idiot when it comes to anything directional and I just figured that Pottstown Meat and Deli would be a little bit of a trip, but I live on University Street, near The Fish House (see yesterday’s post) and it took me less than ten minutes to get here!
Before we go into Pottstown Meat and Deli, let’s first say happy birthday to Dakota.
Happy Birthday, Dakota, have a wonderful year!
Okay, let’s go inside Pottstown Meat and Deli and see what’s happening inside!
Wow, this place is really nice in here and there’s certainly an impressive amount of edible inventory in here!
There’s the Pottstown Meat and Deli manager, Jason Barth and he co-owns the store along with his parents, Bob and Katie.
The Barth family opened up at this location back in 1968, before they moved over to the Metro Centre location and Jason said that its been going great here since they opened back up in this original location back in February.
He said I could roam around and take photos, and so we’ll make like The B-52’s and Roam!
Of course there’s a lot of freshly cut meat in the display cases lining the stores perimeter and it all looks fantastic.
There’s more in here than meat though, here’s some snack and candy items on the shelves in here.
There’s also a nice selection of sauces, condiments and seasonings for your meaty meals.
If you’re a wine drinker, you should definitely come here and check out the impressive selection of wines that are on display here in the store.
There’s also a frozen food case and as you can see in the last photo, they have frozen pizzas in here! You just might see one of these reviewed on my YouTube channel. Subscribe to that channel and stay tuned for this upcoming pizza review next week!
All of this roaming around gave me an appetite, so I wandered over to the deli, ordered a sandwich and then drove back to the MBIP World Headquarters for a lunch from Pottstown Meat and Deli!
We’re back at the MBIP World Headquarters lunchroom, let’s open the bag and see what we got for lunch from the Pottstown Deli!
I got a classic ham and cheddar cheese sandwich on marble rye with spicy mustard and it came with a pickle spear.
The pickle was zingy and delicious!
Wow, this sandwich was incredible. The ham was tasty and tender and it was complimented perfectly by the rich cheddar cheese and spicy mustard. The marble rye bread was bakery fresh and this was such an excellent and tasty sandwich!
Thanks to Jason and the Barth family for a wonderful afternoon and you should definitely check out the new Pottstown Meat And Deli location! The address and online links are posted right below this sentence!
