There’s a unique business that opened up in downtown Peoria recently and the name is somewhat misleading.
That name is, Selfie Space, and when you first hear it your mind automatically thinks of a studio where you take selfie photos for your enjoyment, to use as artwork on your walls and beyond and to put up on social media.
And Selfie Space is just that, but as you’ll soon see, it is so much more!
Okay, here we are at Selfie Space in downtown Peoria on Madison Avenue.
It’s right across the street from the Madison Theatre, if fact you can see the theatre reflected in the glass in these photos!

Why do I feel like David Byrne all of a sudden?
There’s the pretty and friendly owner of Selfie Space, Renee Waller!
Renee’s an army veteran who served in Peoria’s 1/106th Aviation Battalion for nearly a decade.
She says her vision for Selfie Space is to bring laughs, dreams, selfies and good times to downtown Peoria.
Renee offered to give us a tour of the space, so let’s take a look at this colorful and inventive studio/space/event center.
The rooms are interactive with props to play and pose with that add to your selfie photos and experience.
All of the artwork, design and props were pretty much created by Renee and her family which is amazing!
Even if you don’t want to take selfies, it’s worth the price of admission just to walk around and admire these rooms and the art on and in them.
It’s a genuine art gallery in here!
Anyone can reserve this space for an hour or more and have the whole place to yourself. This would be a genius way to start off a first date with someone.
First dates are always awkward when you have to first meet in person and this would be the perfect place to meet and break the ice while taking selfies and clowning around.
You can also bring in food and drink, so you could have your own little happy hour in here to start off your first date!

Businesses can rent this spacious room for an off-site meeting and then end the meeting taking some fun selfies of the work team to share and maybe put on the walls of your business to brighten up a stiff corporate atmosphere!
