Taking Care Of Business @: Wild Routed And Lunch @: Pop-Up Chicken Shop

by MBIP

There’s a unique business in Peoria that you should know about, it’s called Wild Routed and its a family-owned business featuring nature inspired products. They’ve been in business for over four years and in that short time, they’ve gone from an idea to a Peoria based business to selling their nature-influenced products on a national level!

They are located in downtown Peoria, so let’s go down there and check them out.

I’ve called in advance and lunch just may be involved too, so let’s head off into that Wild Routed blue yonder and see what’s happening in downtown Peoria!

Here we are at the La Ville De Mailett Building a.k.a. LVDM Building in beautiful downtown Peoria.

Wild Routed has the right corner front studio space, let’s go in and say hello!

Hello, Wild Routed!

From left: Brennen, John and Diana Ingles, the creators of the Wild Routed Peoria-based family-owned and operated business.

Diana said that the business was partially inspired by her life growing up in Germantown and her Grandparents influence concerning the ecology and the re-purposing of items in the world around us.

They explained their business plan to me and here it is, in their own words:

Wild Routed is a family-owned lifestyle brand built on a simple belief: connecting people to nature inspires them to protect it. Our products—stickers, apparel, postcards, and coloring books—feature hand-drawn graphics inspired by national parks, wildlife, and public lands.

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We use eco-conscious materials and processes whenever possible, like carbon-negative Algae Ink® and Natural Fiber Welding’s Mirum®. As members of 1% for the Planet, we proudly support environmental organizations working to protect the wild.

Our focus is creating custom-illustrated wholesale products that tell the unique story of each park we partner with. If you're looking for eco-conscious designs that help share your park’s story, we’d love to connect.

This is a space that’s open to the public with all of the inventory available for sale. They’re open Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm, so stop on by and check out Wild Routed today!

All of the drawings and design are by Diana, John and Brennan and the clothing and hats are fun, original and one-of-a-kind items.

Check out the fun, nature-inspired notepads, postcards and colorful stickers.

They also have their own line of coloring books based on the national parks that they sell their products to.

Wild Routed currently have their line of nature-based products for sale in parks in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Lake Tahoe, Georgia and of course, right here in downtown Peoria. Very impressive!

Abbi Slape stopped by and said hi while we were hanging out. Abbi owns the building with her husband, Dennis and she manages it.

The building houses other businesses including The Nest co-working spaces. There are openings available here, feel free to call Abbi at 309-370-4347 if you’re interested in office space in downtown Peoria.

Pop-Up Chicken Shop is located right next door, so we decided to have lunch there. You order at the front counter when you walk in.

It’s nice and spacious in here and they have a nice bar in the back.

John and Abbi got chicken wraps and Diana got a Smashburger and fries.

I got the chicken and waffles and the food here is tasty and spectacular!

Pop-Up Chicken Shop is a wonderful lunch and dinner destination in downtown Peoria and we all enjoyed the food and atmosphere in here!

Thanks to Diana, John and Abbi for hanging out with me and joining me for lunch. It was a fun afternoon and be sure to check out more about Wild Routed by clicking on the links below!
