Ming Shee is one of Peoria’s oldest Chinese restaurants and it’s the first place I ever sampled Chinese food here in Peoria.
We’re headed their today for lunch and our special luncheon guest star has just arrived at the MBIP World Headquarters, Mach IV door.
It’s none other than…
Bob Gordon, owner of ACME Comics & Books and he’s brought us a housewarming gift from his store…
It’s a Joan Jett Funko! Pop vinyl figurine!
This is too cool and I love the box it comes in! The art is fantastic!
And the figurine is fabulous! I put it in a place of honor, on the dining room table in the Joan Jett Dining Room!
I love it, thanks Bob!
Now it’s off to lunch!
Here we are at Ming Shee, an iconic Peoria Chinese Restaurant!
You order up at the front counter, beyond the ornate circular entrance.
Booths line the walls and here’s Bob settling in for lunch.
While the food is being prepared, I’ll wander around and take a few photos, hey, it’s what I do!
Here’s the dining room, we’re a little past the lunch hour, so we pretty much have the place to ourselves.
Chinese art is featured on the walls in here.
Meanwhile, back at our booth…
Our Chinese lunch is served!
Bob got the sweet and sour chicken which is served with rice, and egg roll and sweet and sour sauce. It looks delicious!
I got an order of chicken wings. That may seem like a strange thing to order from a Chinese Restaurant, but that’s what I was in the mood for and they were delicious.
The dipping sauce was spicy and had a nice zing to itl
Here’s Bob enjoying his lunch.
On the way out, I took a photo of their logo on the rug at the door.
Thanks to Bob for joining me and for the cool Joan Jett housewarming gift. If you’d like to get one, stop in at ACME Comics & Books and pick one up before they’re all sold out!
