You’ve probably heard that the iconic and historical Peoria restaurant, Sky Harbor has been sold and the new name of the businees that moved in there is: High Harbor Cannabis Lounge & Event Center.
It’s supposed to open up in the late fall and here’s the description of what this place is going to be from their facecrack page: “The High Harbor Cannabis Lounge & Event Center is over 7000 square feet featuring two cannabis consumption lounges and private event spaces. The aeronautical themed Skyway Lounge will host a variety of live entertainment, educational seminars and a bar for high end glass rentals. For a sophisticated smoking experience, you'll want to visit our swanky indoor/outdoor VIP Lava Lounge. Munchies? We have you covered at the Tarmac Pavillion with Peoria's best food trucks.”
So there you have it, they won’t be selling marijuana, but patrons are welcome to bring their own in to the lounge.
They’re gutting the inside of the place and I saw some pictures on facecrack, so I thought we’d travel to the new site of High Harbor and see what’s happening there.
Sadly, I don’t have any marijuana to bring with me, if this was the ’70’s, I’d be good to go!
Here we are at the former home of Sky Harbor. The original sign is still up, I wonder what will become of this, it’s definitely an historical sign.
The parking lot is completely empty. That’s not a good sign for today’s post.
I went up to the entrance doors and they were locked and there’s no one around.
Shit, I thought they’d be working here and I could get some inside shots of what’s going on in here.
I also was hoping to talk to someone in charge and find out more about the concept of this place.
The best I could get is these photos from inside the windows of the doors. It looks like the place is being completely gutted.
Outside the beer patio is empty and if you look closely at the wall here, you can see the ghosted image from the Sky Harbor Steak House sign.

Here’s the floor plans for the new High Harbor, there’s going to be different themed lounges and a live stage in here for music and comedy.

I just wish I could’ve gotten more of the inside of the place myself today.
I left feeling somewhat defeated that no one was there and I couldn’t get too many interesting photos of the place which is in transition from Sky Harbor to High Harbor.
Oh well, when defeat smacks you between your eyeballs, there’s only one thing to do…
Go to MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen Area and pour some shredded carrots into a bowl.
Then you add some Ken’s Northern Italian salad dressing…it’s just the thing you need to do…
Next throw in some ham and turkey slices, add some lettuce and some Ken’s Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing to the mix and all of a sudden…
It’s a delicious solution to defeat and all that comes with that eventuality.
