It’s going to be summer this weekend, so that can only mean one thing…Open-Faced Chili Cheese Dogs!

Let’s get cooking!

2. ing_6-18-20.jpg

The ingredients for this week’s Marty Meal include, from left: Chili Seasoning, King’s Hawaiian Hot Dog Buns, Ray’s Coney Dog Sauce, Sargento Ultra Thin Cheddar Cheese, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, an onion and Velveeta Jalapeno Cheese Slices.

Plus I’ll be using spices already housed in the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.

And asl always, the most important ingredient has just been cracked open, a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!

We’ll start this week’s Marty Meal by chopping up the onion and sautéing the pieces in this pan.

While the onions are cooking, we’ll get the chili dog sauce happening. The base of the sauce is two cans of Ray’s Coney Dog Sauce.

I’m adding hot sauce, chili powder, black pepper and a generous dollop of Mr. Mustard Sweet Hot Mustard to the mix.

I got a chili seasoning kit which I’ve added to the coney dog sauce along with some slices of the Velveeta Jalapeno Cheese. Then I put the grilled onions in to the chili mixture.

I stirred it all together and tasted it and it’s spicy and delicious. I could eat this alone with some crackers, but we’ll let it simmer till we need to top off the hot dogs with it.

Now it’s time to cook the hot dogs, but first, some Photoshop Fun!

Photoshop Fun!

The fun just never ends, I tell you! Har-dee-har-har! Okay, back to the Marty Meal!

9. hotdogs_6-18-20.jpg

I sliced three of the Nathan’s Hot Dogs and cooked them in a hot-buttered pan.

They kind of curled up while being cooked, so I cut them up into pieces that would fit on the sandwich better.

Here’s a pro-tip: When making chili cheese dogs, only use the tops of the buns!

Cut them in half and throw away the heel. I buttered the top buns and grilled them in the pan.

And yes, this is inspired from the “Top Of The Muffin” Seinfeld episode.

Now we’ll add the cheese slices and cover them to melt the cheese on the buns.

Now we’ll assemble the open-faced chili cheese dogs using our delicious ingredients!

Wow, this was a delicious summer treat!

The chili was spicy and savory and the cheesy hot dogs were so tasty! The grilled buttered buns were light, fluffy and a perfect base!

This was a delicious and decadent summer taste sensation!

And this is still cracking me up!

Okay, I’m running kind of late, so there’s just going to be a trio of photos for this week’s titillating photo montage. Hot Dog!
