When things “open up” it’s going to be odd doing this blog again. I wonder if I’ll be able to do another “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here?” episode? It was always kind of obnoxious and awkward and now I may have to rename it, “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here While I Stay Six Feet Away From Everyone?”

Well, it looks like we’ve got at least another month to think about this, so let’s go back in time when things were a lot more normal and I went to Simantel, which is a marketing company.

This was a particularly awkward episode that had a happy ending next door at Running Central.

I never enjoy doing these “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here” episodes and I remember having butterflies in my stomach as I picked up my lunch at Khaki Jack’s back in the pre-Corona times on January 24, 2018.

My destination was Simantel, which is a marketing business in downtown Peoria. Back then they didn’t have a sign outside which I thought was kind of odd for a marketing company.

I went in and this went down horrifically. One of the owners came out and he was such a condescending dick! It really was a bad time and the highlight for me was when I asked him if they had a lunch room and this asshole said, “We have a cafe area.” Well, la de fucking da!

A couple months later I met Maggie who’s another owner and I have to say she was so cool and her and her husband were very nice and she apologized for the bad day I had in there. And now they have a sign outside so I take back every bad thing I ever said about Simantel.

But that guy can still go fuck himself! What a dick!

After my horrible experience at Simantel, I went next door to Running Central and was welcomed with open arms by owner Adam and his friendly crew.

I gave them the ping pong table I had bought for Simantel and Adam gave me a tour of the store and it all ended up on a good note!
