It’s the second week of this Pandemic Taco Tour and this week we’re going to go to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Peoria to sample a shrimp taco. I’ve had lots of dishes at Hacienda El Mirador, but I’ve never tried their shrimp taco.
So today I’m going to try that out. So there!
Here we are at Hacienda El Mirador in Junction City Shopping Center. I love this place!
As you can see there’s lots of outside dining space here.
But we’ve got an order to go, so let’s step inside and see what’s happening.
I went up to the hostess station and was told that my order was just about ready, so I took a few moments to take a few photos inside of here.
There’s the two dining rooms and check out the aquarium, that’s something I’ve never seen in here before!
There’s the margarita list and the weekly specials listed on the walls in here.
And here’s the bar room off to the side of the dining rooms.
I love the chandelier in here and there’s the MBIP greeting on the wall that happened during this blog post just about a year and a half ago. With all that’s happened, that seems like another lifetime ago!
There’s the hot sauces available and some of the bottled beers…wait a second…what’s that…
The hostess was shy and didn’t want to pose for a picture, so there’s our food on the bar and there it is back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
I got the appetizer dish, Chori Queso, which is the melted, warm Chihuahua cheese and housemade tortilla chips. This was so satisfying and delicious!
And here’s the tacos of the week, I got two shrimp tacos.
I’ve never had a shrimp taco before and I’m excited to try these!
They came with lime slices and hot sauce which I added to the soft-shell tacos.
Wow, these are delicious and unique tasting tacos!
The shrimp is succulent and juicy and the Chipotle lime dressing has a spicy sauce, carrots and slaw that add a nice flavor and crunch to the taco.
These are excellent tacos and I suggest you head over there for lunch or dinner and try them out!
