Okay, it’s the third week of our ten week ice cream tour and I’ve had a lot of suggestions and I won’t be able to fit them all into this tour, so I’ll probably do another one next year. One place that was on my list that I have to go to is the M&M Twistee Treat in East Peoria. The shop itself is a giant ice cream cone, so how could I pass that by? Well, the answer is I won’t, so here we go!
I love this place! An ice cream parlor in the shape of a giant ice cream cone. Genius!
Here’s a view of the side of the ice cream cone structure and there’s an inside dining area behind it. Great neon in the windows!
There’s the menu in the window over here. As you can see there’s lots of ice cream choices to be had here, let’s go up to the window and see if we can get a suggestion on what to order for this third week of ice cream treats.
That’s Crystal on the left and Mikayla on the right and they suggested I try the Brownie Delight. That sounds...well...delightful, so that’s what I ordered.
Mikayla wasted no time in preparing this delightful ice cream and brownie creation and there she is serving it up with a beautiful smile!
It’s nice outside so I thought we’d eat it at this picnic table over here. We better dig in, it’s starting to melt already!
This looks delicious! It’s vanilla soft-serve ice cream with hot fudge in the bottom and topped off with whipped cream and two brownies. It’s really tasty and a sweet summer treat!
And as you finish off the ice cream, you still have two brownies that are soaked in the ice cream and hot fudge. As good as the ice cream portion was, this is really the best part of it. The brownie is kind of like a super sweet ice cream sandwich! This is really a happy ending to this ice cream creation!
I told you there’s a dining room back here, so let’s go check it out. There’s tables and booths in here and you can order at the front counter. And there’s more than ice cream in here, they have a full food menu including chili cheese dogs, cheeseburgers, hot tamales, bbq sandwiches and lots more. And there’s two M&M’s which the place is named after.
There’s another room over here with more booths and tables. There’s also pictures on the wall of the Fabulous Four, The King, The Pre-Fab Four and a signed photo of local legends, Salty Sam and Captain Jinks!
Check out the vintage jukebox back here and there’s a trio of giant ice cream cones in the window over here. Uh, oh...creepy clown sighting over here, nightmare tonight! Thanks to Crystal and Mikayla for a decious ice cream treat and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
Ice Cream Rating
Three and a quarter ice cream cones—The Brownie Delight was really tasty and kind of like two treats in one! The menu here is huge and it’s served up in a giant ice cream cone building!
