This week Hangovers posted this on facecrack:
So this can only mean one thing: Hangovers logo creation! To the MBIP art supplies!
Okay, I decided to go old school with my logo and create it from crayons onto paper. Let’s take it to the bar an see what they think!
Here we are at Hangovers. It’s been just about a year since I was here last, you can see that post here. I agree that they do need a new logo. I don’t like that font. It’s not as bad as Comic Sans, but it kind of runs a close second. And yes, I’m a font snob, you got a problem with that? Good, let’s keep moving along in a nice Helvetica fashion here!
There’s more of that logo in the window, I’ll be anxious to see the new one they pick in August! Maybe it’ll be mine! Let’s go in and present it to the bartender and see what they think of my creation!
As I walk in i see a familiar face there at the bar, it’s my friend and frequent MBIP guest star, Joe! I settled into the seat next to him and Danielle came up with an ice cold bottle of beer! Danielle is not only the bartender, but she told Joe and I that her family owns the bar. It’s a family affair in here, somebody cue up Sly and The Family Stone!
Here’s Danielle with Barbie, the other bartender on duty holding my logo. It looks even better being held by these two pretty ladies! Danielle told me I’m the first one to have a logo entry in the contest! She put it up at the bar. You should create one and join in this contest, the prizes are 50 bucks in cash, a t-shirt and 25 dollars in drink chips! Plus your logo could be the new signage for Hangovers! If you can beat my design, that is!
There’s a shot of the lit-up inventory behind the bar. They have four taps, but three styles of beer available as Bud Light is up there twice. The bottled and canned beer is in this cooler at the end of the bar and at the other end is Justin with Barbie. Justin’s also part of the family that owns Hangovers.
There’s a pool table up front with stools and a wooden shelf nearby. Gaming machines are back in the corner, but the big draw here is...
Darts! They host a number of dart leagues here and it’s a popular dart bar in this neighborhood. Last year when I was here they were working to open up the floor above into a bar and Justin told me it’s open now!
So let’s go up and have a look at it! Wow, it’s really nice up here, it’s got a little more of an upscale vibe as opposed to the dive bar feel of the ground floor. It’s like two bars in one! And check it out, there’s Danielle behind this bar, she really gets around!
Here’s a shot from the other end of the bar and there’s chairs and tables opposite the bar in a lounge-like area. That’s Victor up at the bar, we chatted for a little bit and found out we have a common friend! I guess I better cue this up!
I told you this bar was known for darts and there’s five more state-of-the-art dart boards up here. And check out the Hangovers logo made out of bottle caps! That’s cool...
But I like mine better! Thanks to Joe for hanging out for the evening and to Danielle and Barbie for the great service and hospitality. Now go create a logo and let’s kick this contest into full gear! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
