Four years ago on this date and almost to this exact time I hit “Publish” on my first blog here on MBIP. I was really nervous and had no idea what was going to happen. I had just moved back to Peoria after living 19 years in New York City and my last year there wasn’t too good. So I was hoping things would get better if I moved back here. Like the way I’ve lived so much of my life, I didn’t think much about it, I just did it to see what would happen. One thing I was fairly certain about was that I would need some sort of project to keep me sane, I always do and that could be a whole blog unto itself. Suffice it to say, I kind of need deadlines in my life. Some of us do and some of us don’t. I do. And it’s nice to think that as you’re preparing something for a deadline that others will read it and look at what you’ve done. So I went to work on the MBIP blog, put the first post together along with some ideas for the next couple of weeks, hit “Publish” and I was thrilled that a lot of people looked at what I had done.
Four years later I still am and just want to say thanks to everyone who’s ever read this blog, come up and told me they read it and have interacted with me because of it. It’s been a great way to meet people and talk with them about so many different subjects and ideas. That’s one of the many reasons I do this blog—there’s more reasons than that, but I don’t have the time to get into it and besides, I’ve been through therapy already, years ago, so I don’t need to talk about it anymore!
I didn’t know what I wanted to do for this anniversary post and I decided to go back through the years and grab some of the pictures of people I’ve met while doing this. This turned out to take more time than I thought it would, so I’m doing it in two parts. This is part one, and it’s the years 2012 through 2014. The pictures aren’t in any order and I kind of grabbed them willy-nilly. I couldn’t put up every picture of every person I’ve met through the years, but thanks to all of you for reading and being a part of this. It really means a lot to me. I truly am grateful for every single person I’ve met while doing this blog and appreciate the fact that you took time for me in your life.
And so, here we go with part one!
