Smiley Graphix has been in business since 1997 right here in Peoria. De Ingles is the branding specialist, logo designer and creative force of the SG team and John Ingles is a pocketknife...hey, I’m not making this crap up, read it for yourself! Anyway, they just did a redesign of their website and they also recently got national recognition by winning an award from Graphic Design USA for the work and design of the “look book” for Alluvian Aquatic Botanical Grooming, a Peoria-based manufacturer of small-batch aquatic botanical soap and transformative men’s grooming products. And of course all of this wonderful news can mean only one thing: Smiley Graphix Party at Kenny’s Westside Pub!
Here we are and check it out, it’s one half of Smiley Graphix—John Ingles, holding the door for us! What a gentleman! Let’s go inside and see if we can find the other half of this Smiley Graphix team and get this party started!
If you haven’t been to the new Kenny’s Westside Pub, you really need to stop by. It’s got the same friendly vibe and atmosphere of the original place, but it’s bigger and really nice inside. As you can see, there’s a full house in here and there’s De back at the end of the bar. Now that the Smiley Graphix team is all together, time to start this party. And you need four ingredients for a successful party, so let’s take inventory as this Smiley Graphix soiree begins!
Beer is an essential ingredient to any party and here’s Jenni serving up an ice cold Budweiser with a beautiful smile! Check out the handy-dandy Smily Graphix coaster on the bar, nice!
You can’t have a party without people and here’s John leading us into some of the guests that showed up for tonight’s party.
Wow, that’s quite a crowd! I can’t begin to caption everyone’s name, so if you don’t know these people, feel free to make up names as you scroll along! It was a fun crowd of people that showed up and the next important ingredient you need at a party is...
3. Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are always a nice addition to a party, especially here at Kenny’s, where there’s several flavors of wings to choose from. One flavor is missing though and it’s one that’s not on the menu, but it’s usually made up special by...
Sean Kenny! Of course we’re talking about the peanut butter wings that he made up for our chicken wing tour. Those are so good and you can’t get them all the time, but Sean’s going to make up several batches just for the Smiley Graphix party!
And here they are! As you can see, these are really popular and they go fast!
The fourth ingredient needed for a fun party is prizes and there was no shortage of those at last night;’s party! Here’s De and Brennen pulling names and prizes out of bags and the lucky winners are...
All of these people! De and John gave out shirts, notepads, coasters, stickers and I donated one of my fire truck books and Randon won that! I hope he reads it, because I’m going to give him a pop quiz on it the next time I see him!
We now interrupt this Smiley Graphix party post for a round of dueling photography with John Ingles! Okay, we new return to our post, already in progress!
Well, the MBIP Camera is spazzing out, so I guess it’s time to call it a night! Hate the MBIP Camera...HATE HATE HATE it!
Thanks to De and John for a fun party and congratulations on the success of Smiley Graphix! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
