"Boris" had to take another week off—he's fine, but a lot of things have piled up on him lately, so he didn't have time for a post this week. I thought about re-running one of his earlier posts like I did the other week, but then I thought of something else I'd like to spotlight here: Artwork by "Boris."
Most of you people who only know "Boris" through MBIP, probably think of him as a photographer and writer. Well, there's many other hats he wears and "artist" is one of those hats...well, maybe it's a beret.
On May 4th, 2009 I started my very first blog, which was called The Marty Wombacher Show. The blog never took off, it didn't have a singular focus and I still had the mindset of laying things out online like a print magazine back then. It didn't work and I feel I learned a lot from the mistakes I made there.
One thing that wasn't a mistake however was the artwork that "Boris" produced for it. In the beginning the blog had a static home page that never changed, which I realized after a couple of weeks was a big mistake. People don't want to come to a daily blog and see the same artwork every day, so I started changing the art there on a daily basis. Pretty soon "Boris" gave me a hand and started doing some of them and pretty soon I asked him if he could take over and create the majority of them and just like the trooper he is, he stepped up to the plate and hit one home run after another.
I thought since most of you have probably never seen this artwork it would be fun to highlight it today. Even if you did see it back in the day, I think you'll enjoy taking a second gander at these wonderful and often times hilarious images that "Boris" created. And so, away we go!
I want to thank "Boris" for all the work he's done for me through the years. It's all been inspiring for me and I consider it an honor to have such a creative genius as a friend and co-collaborator! Thanks for the work and for the friendship, Brother "Boris!"
