I’ve been going to Castle’s Patio Inn since it was first called, Ray’s Patio Inn back in the ’70’s. It was definitely on my list of bars to visit here in Peoria and the other day I saw this on facecrack:
So I figured that this was a sign to head over there for our 81st night on the town. And so, just like Jackie G., away we go!

Here we are at Castle’s Patio Inn. One of the things I hate about Daylight Savings Time is that it’s now light out at a little after seven at night. Oh well, we’ll get a night time shot on our way out of here.
Let’s go in and see if the birthday party has started!
The party has indeed begun! There’s a big crowd in here and there’s a Happy Birthday sign for Katie!
I saw an opening at the bar and jumped in and got a can of Bud Light from Anu, who owns the bar along with her husband and Jamie, who’s the friendly bartender on duty tonight!
I also got some of the famous Castle’s Patio Inn Cheese with some Ritz Crackers! We’re off to a fabulous start in here!

There’s the birthday girl hereself, Katie! She’s holding an Easter Basket I got her for her bithday and there’s candy inside of it.
Look at that fabulous smile! Happy Birthday Katie!
Shortly after I gave her my present, candlelit birthday pies were brought out and everyone sang, Happy Birthday to Katie. What a festive evening!
Here’s the new owners of Castle’s Patio Inn, Ravi and Anu, who we met at the bar earlier.
They said they’re currently working on getting the kitchen open with a full lunch and dinner menu. They told me that they’re excited to bring Peoria a new chapter in the on-going history of Castle’s Patio Inn!
Great to meet them and I’m happy they’re keeping this local and historic bar alive and well!
Things have calmed down a little, so I got a nice shot of the bar and the classic Budweiser trolley that hangs over it.
There’s the trio of beers on tap behind the bar.
Happy Hour happens from 3pm to 5pm Monday through Friday in here and on Monday’s they serve up free cheese and crackers!
I love the classic Busch sign hanging over here!
They have a gaming room in the back over here if you’re in the gambling mood.
