Saturday Night @: Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery With Musical Guest Stars: Jonny Quest Band

by MBIP

Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night with this week’s host, Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery and featuring musical guest stars, Jonny Quest Band.

Now please welcome, from Water Street in beautiful downtown Peoria, Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery.

Here we at Kelleher’s Irish Pub & Eatery. It’s really nice outside and the outdoor patio is packed!

We’re going inside though, so let’s go on in and start this week’s Saturday Night adventure!

That’s Keira at the host station looking super-cute!

I told her I was going to sit at the bar and she told me to go on in, so that’s exactly what I did!

There were plenty of seats at the bar and no sooner had I settled in, than Laura, the pretty and friendly bartender on duty brought me an iced tea!

I love it when this happens!

I wasn’t sure how to scan this thing for the menu, so luckily they gave me a physical copy.

I placed my order, now let’s take a look around in here.

Here’s a longshot of the classic wooden bar in here.

As you can see, they have a large selection of beers on tap and the last one is a lone, unmarked tap. Very mysterious!

They certainly deserve the title of “Purveyors Of Stouts!”

This is Tim and Ron who were enjoying drinks and dinner out at the patio. Ron approached me first to tell me he’s a fan of the blog and I always love to hear that.

Then Tim came up and said he worked at Murray’s Department Store back when I was there in 1980! We compared notes and talked about what a fun place it was to work at. Great to see both of them!

There’s tables and booths across from the bar, there’s also dining tables along the wall and more in the back room.

Over here is the discreet gaming area of Kelleher’s for all of you gamblers out there.

Meanwhile, back at the bar…

It looks like it’s just about time for our Saturday night dinner!

I started off with an order of chicken wings. I got the Buffalo flavored wings and they were, plump, juicy and very tasty.

The sauce was spicy with just the right amount of heat. They were tangy and hot, but not overwhelming.

I also got an order of the Beef Bites.

You can choose between Corned Beef or Guinness Beef and I got the Guinness Beef which is covered in melted Swiss Cheese and served on toasted, marbled rye bread.

The dish looks amazing!

It comes with spicy brown mustard and I put a dollop on every piece.

This was such a delicious and tasty treat!

The beef was tender and savory and it was balanced out by the rich, melted Swiss Cheese. The toasted marbled rye bread was a nice crispy base and this was a fabulous dish packed with lots of flavors!

What a delicious Saturday night dinner!

During the summer Kelleher’s has live music every weekend outside the bar on a stage on Water Street.

This week, the popular local band, Jonny Quest was playing and as I finished dinner I got a shot of their bass player, Tim Brickner with the owner of Kelleher’s, Pat Sullivan.

Great to see both of them and Tim said they were just about to start a new set of tunes, so let’s step outside and see the show!

Here they are on the outside stage on Water Street, The Jonny Quest Band!

Jonny Quest is, from top to bottom: Josh Bradshaw on guitar and lead vocals, Matthew Warren on drums, background vocals and harmonica and Tim Brickner on bass and background vocals.

They’re a popular Peoria band and they play in a variety of styles and cover songs from such diverse artists as Tom Petty to Johnny Cash to R.E.M. to Matchbox Twenty and everyone in between as well.

It’s always fun to see them and enjoy their well-crafted live stage show.

Jonny Quest put on a great show and it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night in downtown Peoria.
