Downloading Apps - The MBIP Appetizer Tour! - Week Number Eight @: Casa Agave

by MBIP

For the eighth week of this appetizer tour, I thought we’d travel to Peoria Heights and get some appetizers there. Where are we going to?

I’m not sure, I have a feeling that there will be a sign to lead us on the way. Have a little faith and let’s get going!

I told you that there would be a sign and here it is!

Let’s follow that arrow and see where it leads us to…

Casa Agave! Great new Mexican destination in Peoria Heights! The sign has served us well, let’s go in and see what’s happening in there!

There’s the front host station, but I don’t need to be seated, I’m going to head into the main dinineg room and look for today’s special guest star…

And there he is, already seated at our table, my friend Michael! Always great to see him, now it’s time to settle in and order some appetizers!

Martini was our server and he delivered us some iced tea and took our luncheon orders. Things are going like clockwork today!

Now it’s time for today’s photos while we wait for our food to arrive.

There’s a booth and seating on the wall opposite us in the main dining room.

I love the tequila kegs on the wall and here’s a shot from the very back of the dining room.

There’s three shots of the impressive bar in the front room and yes, it’s stocked with plenty of tequila!

There’s another booth lined wall with tables and seating opposite the bar.

Meanwhile, back at our table…

Our Mexican lunch has arrived, areeeba!

Michael got an order of Enchiladas Mole Poblano and it looks fantastic!

Here’s this week’s trio of tantalizing appetizers, from the top: Queso Cheese Dip with homemade tortilla chips, Trio de Cerviches and an order of Esquite.

Everything looks fabulous and delicious, let’s dig in and try them out!

These were extremely tasty and satisfying appetizers!

The Queso Dip was a rich and creamy delight, the Trio de Cerviches were chunks of cooked tiger shrimp with unique seasonings and flavors and the surprise of the day was the bowl of Esquite.

Esquite is roasted corn, cut off the cob and mixed with Cotija cheese, mayonnaise, chili powder and served with a lime. I ordered this as an after-thought and it was the tastiest of all three of the appetizers! The corn was flavorul and mixed with those seasonings it was a delicious and savory treat!

This was a trio of unique and delicious appetizers!

There’s Michael enjoying a bite of the appetizers on the table.

Michael gifted me this hot sauce he got on a recent trip to New Jersey! I’ll be featuring it in next week’s YouTube pizza review, so stay tuned for that! Thanks, Michael!

Appetizer Rating

All three of the appetizers were tasty and a top-shelf treat, but as I said, the Esquite was my favorite. It was loaded with spicy, unique flavor and a true Mexican treat!

I’ll give the Esquite a high rating of three and a half Chad Wallace Deviled Eggs!

Thanks to Martini and everyone at Casa Agave for the wonderful lunch and afternoon!

And thanks to Michael for joining me and for the hot sauce and great company! Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!
