For those of you that have followed the MBIP blog for years, you may know that in August I always get a yearly visit from my cousins, Danny and Patty who live in Baltimore.
Well, guess what?
It’s August and here they are, my fabulous cousins, Danny and Patty!
They came over to the MBIP World Headquarters and we had a nice visit and I found out in our conversation that they had never been to Lou’s Drive-In, an iconic Peoria institution in the summer.
So I think you know where our next stop is…
Lou’s Drive-In!
There it is in all its summer-fried glory! We sauntered up to Lou’s Island and checked out the menu.
Izabella was one of the Lou’s girls on duty behind the counter and she took our lunch order while flashing a beautiful smile for the MBIP Camera!
There she is ringing it up and sending our order in to be made fresh in the kitchen.
We decided to sit at this table over here. Now I must abandon Danny and Patty for photos while we wait for our order to be cooked up in the kitchen.
Here’s both sides of the Lou’s Island.
Yes, I’ve looked at Lou’s from both sides now…I feel just like Joni Mitchell!
There’s a large dining area in front of Lou’s Island with lots of tables and chairs.
I love the classic signs above the Lou’s Island.
Meanwhile, back at our table, our lunch has magically arrived! I love it when that happens!
Danny and Patty each got a tenderloin, I got a cheeseburger and we each got an order of French fries. Everything looks fantastic, as it always does at Lou’s!
There’s Danny and Patty digging into lunch and it was a delicious daytime treat. My cheeseburger was fabulous, as it always is at Lou’s Drive-In!
Thanks to Danny and Patty for taking time in their trip to Peoria to spend some time for a fun-filled lunch at Lou’s Drive-In! We’ll see you next summer!
