Last Sunday was supposed to be my first Peoria Chiefs game of 2025. I try to go to at least one game every year and put up a blog post from the baseball game.
Well this year, my friend Mike had secured a Luxury Suite and he kindly invited me to be a guest at the game! It was to take place last Sunday on Easter Sunday and I was really looking forward to this.
Then something fell out of the sky: Rain.
It was raining in the morning but it was supposed to stop by noon and the game didn’t start till 2pm, so I was pretty sure the game was going to happen as planned.
Sure enough, the rain did stop around noon but at 12:30 pm, they called the game due to the rain.
I was going to do a blog on this, so I had to think quick and that’s not easy to do on a Sunday afternoon! Okay, it’s not easy for me to think quickly any time and any day, but what I decided to do was to drive down to Dozer Park and take some photos of what happens down there when a rain day happens!
Let’s go!
Here we go down to Dozer Park, it’s a grey day but the rain has stopped and I think they could’ve played the game. But it is Easter and 4/20, so maybe they’re up to other things!
I parked and had to laugh at the license plate in front of me! Egg-zactly the perfect plate for this Easter Sunday!
There’s Dozer Park, all locked up on this soggy Rain Day!
The seats are all empty in the park.
There’s a few people on the field, but they didn’t bother to remove the tarp.
You have to play by the rules listed here!
Shirts are required here. Does that mean you need more than one shirt to be on the Concourse? And where exactly is this Concourse anyway? I’m confused!
There’s Born Paint across the street with a sign for Jack’s On Adams on the wall! Stop by Jack’s On Adams this Saturday for the third anniversary party with live music and lots of fun! I’ll be there!
Here’s a group of people looking at the empty playing field. 4/20 is one hell of a day!
So what did we find out that happens on a Rain Day at Dozer Park? Not a whole hell of a lot! Kind of reminds me of this day at The Bronx Zoo that is one of Chad Wallace’s favorite posts!
Thanks to Mike for the invitation though, maybe we can do it another time. Be sure to check out Mike’s archival page of live music that he attends, it’s a musical and magical place online!
See you all tomorrow!
